Our Story
Emerald BioStructures is a contract research organization founded in 1998 with the vision of being a world leader in the business of structural biology research and technology products. Dr. Lance Stewart, Advisory Board Chair, co-founded the company after completing his training in protein X-ray crystallography in the laboratory of Dr. Wim G.J. Hol at the University of Washington.
We work with pharmaceutical companies all over the world, organizations both large and small, research institutions, private foundations, and government agencies. Emerald defines success as solving structures and providing insights that are key to our collaborators' drug discovery programs. Our staff is dedicated to true scientific collaboration and customer satisfaction. Solving structures that are important for therapeutic development or bioprocess improvement, especially structures that have not been previously solved, is the most satisfying part of our work.
