Biophysical Characterization

Emerald captures and analyzes biophysical data to benefit our collaborators’ drug discovery programs, including performing ligand-observe, solution-state binding experiments by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). NMR is a proven methodology for detecting the biophysical binding interactions among small organic molecules and macromolecules, including protein, RNA, DNA, and whole cells.

Fragment-based Drug Design

As part of our novel Fragments of Life™ (FOL™) approach to fragment-based lead discovery and optimization, we combine NMR spectroscopy with X-ray crystallography to rapidly identify fragment hits and generate 3-dimensional complex structures of the macromolecular targets.

NMR Analytical Services

Emerald provides NMR data on any molecule with an NMR active nucleus, we provide structure verification, percent compositional analysis and complete data reporting.

Ligand Binding Studies

We perform ligand-binding (ligand observed) biophysical experiments with large and small molecules by NMR.

Assigned Spectra

Structural assignments for analytical services or ligand binding studies can be performed at an hourly rate. Please contact us for pricing.

NMR Service

Our NMR Services provide a fast and inexpensive way to acquire ligand-binding data. Simply provide us with your biological sample or ligand-bound molecule and leave the analytical services to our specialists. We execute the NMR experiment and deliver the unassigned NMR spectra data directly to you. The service is rapid and inexpensive, performed by the skilled NMR spectromatists at Emerald BioStructures.
